Nickel-molybdenum alloy is Hastelloy B2; it is resistant to reducing environment like acetic or phosphoric acid, hydrogen chloride gas as well as sulfuric. This alloy is resistant to the pure sulfuric acid as well as the number of the nonoxidants. This alloy must not be used in the oxidizing contaminants or oxidizing media or reducing media. Premature failure of alloy B2 occurs if used in media where copper or iron is present in the system containing HCL.
