400 series stainless steel round bars offer martensitic/ferritic structures with high strength, hardness, and moderate corrosion resistance, ideal for demanding industrial uses.
Key Grades410: General-purpose with 11.5-13.5% Cr, 0.15% C max; tensile 65 ksi (450 MPa), yield 30 ksi (205 MPa), 20% elongation; heat-treatable to high hardness.
416: Free-machining with sulfur addition for better tool life; magnetic, good in mild atmospheres.?
420/440C: High-carbon for cutlery/tools, up to 58 HRC; excellent wear resistance.?
Available hot-rolled, cold-drawn, or polished in diameters 5-300mm, lengths 3-6m per ASTM A276/A479.?
